Sprinkler Heads That Are Misting

Sprinklers only mist when there is too much pressure. The best way to fix this problem is to install a pressure reducer at the beginning of the system. Pressure regulators can reduce the pressure to the recommended 35-45 psi. You can install them yourself or have a professional contractor install one for you.
There is also the option of putting bigger nozzles into the sprinklers but it is not recommended. This might help relieve pressure on the sprinklers but it may also cause all the sprinklers to spray too far and throw off the uniformity.
Another temp fix, which is not a recommended fix, is to hook two valves up to one zone on the controller. Most commercial grade controllers can handle 2-3 valves on one zone. Both valves would need to run the same kind of sprinklers. You cannot mix rotors, sprays, or drip since they require different run times. You also need to make sure that there is enough water to run both zones. Some may have enough water when testing them but not enough when they actually run due to high water usage.
