Because of size restrictions on UPS shipments, PVC pipe cannot be shipped via UPS and therefore is unavailable for order via the Internet. PVC Pipe- We recomend using poly vinyl chloride (PVC) pipe for most of our residential customer's sprinkler systems. It generally comes in 10 or 20-foot lengths and is white in color. Pipe of another color has been designed for other uses and is not recommended. The PVC pipe is made in different diameters and wall thicknesses. A 3/4 or 1-inch diameter pipe is appropriate for most residential applications. The specific diameter is determined by the sprinkler system design and water supply hook-up. See our installation manual for help. Sch 80 pipe is used for high pressure commercial sprinkler systems or as threaded pipe extensions, known as risers. 160 PSI and 200 PSI pipe both have a thinner pipe walls and are more brittle. They may be used in certain applications but are not recommended for general residential sprinkler system use.
