Sprinkler Heads are Misting

Problem:

Your sprinklers seem to mist rather than spray. The tiny water dropplets get carried away on the wind.

Cause:

Sprinklers only mist when there is too much water pressure

Definition:
"PSI: Unit of measure for pressure. Number of pounds of pressure per square inch."
.

Solution:

The best way to fix this problem is to install a pressure reducer at the beginning of the system. Pressure regulators can reduce the pressure to the recommended 35-45 psi. You can install them yourself or have a professional contractor install one for you.

There is also the option of putting bigger nozzles into the sprinklers but it is not recommended. This might help relieve pressure on the sprinklers but it may also cause all the sprinklers to spray too far and throw off the uniformity.
