Untimely spring or fall freezes can damage your irrigation system and destroy your backflow preventer. The built-in relief valve will allow expanded water to escape the cavity of the valve as water temperature falls to 32° or slightly lower, allowing the customer additional time to properly winterize and insulate the vacuum breaker.
